Smarter and easier than computer interfaced Fire Wire drives, the Datavideo DV Bank Hard Drive Video Recorder Player has a built in special purpose processor for all user controls and management of the included 60 or 100 Gigabyte hard disc drive (4.5/ 7.5 HRS of DV storage time).  It works with both MAC's and PC's and includes PC/1394 edit software.

This integrated approach eliminates compatibility issues with external hard drives, special holders and other accessories.  

Managing the hard disc with a proprietary processor makes the DV Bank's operation easier and more reliable than a computer managed system. 

A most obvious feature is "no computer boot up-instant on".
