The Mosaic is a PCI plug-in card which has been designed to operate in conjunction with the Datapath iH4-DIG graphics card. The Mosaic, when combined with the iH4-DIG, provides up to 9 separate video overlay windows. For systems that require more than 9 overlay windows, up to 4 Mosaic cards can be installed giving a total of 36 video windows.
-
Up to 9 Video overlay windows on a single screen.
-
Multiple Mosaic cards allowing up to 144 video windows.
-
Overlay windows can be randomly sized, overlapped and positioned anywhere on the Windows Desktop.
-
Multi-Screen support, no position or size restrictions.
-
Mosaic supports up to 8 Datapath iH4-DIG graphics adapters.
-
Video overlay windows are updated in real time with zero CPU overhead.
-
Multi-standard video support, PAL, NTSC, SECAM and S-Video.
-
Separate controls for brightness, contrast, colour and cropping.
-
Window border selection and chroma keying.
-
Fully controlable using the Datapath Wall Control software.

Multiple Mosaic Cards
For systems that require more than 9 overlays, multiple Mosaic cards can be installed. There are many possible configurations with two methods of connecting Mosaic's to Horizon cards.
Method 1:
Each Mosaic (maximum of 4), is connected to all iH4-DIG, (maximum of 8), in the system. This allows any Mosaic window to be displayed anywhere on the desktop. Maximum screens = 32 and 36 video windows.
When the MBM-H2 or MBM-H4 is used in the system this allows up to 8 iH4-Dig cards to be used in the system. Maximum screens = 32 and 36 video windows.
Method 2:
If more than 36 video windows or more than 32 screens are required, the wall can be arranged so that the windows are displayed over part of the wall. Each iH4-DIG card is configured to control a particular group of 4 screens using Wall Control software.. You can decide how many video windows are required for each group of 4 screens that will be controlled by the iH4-DIG. For each iH4-DIG, connect up to 4 Mosaic Cards, this allows you up to 36 video windows for each set of 4 screens. If some video windows are required to be displayed over more than 4 screens or need to be moved over more than 4 screens, then the Mosaic cards can be connected to each iH4-DIG card that you want the video overlays to operate over.
Rules for Connecting Mosaics:
- Each Mosaic can be connected to a maximum of 8 iH4-DIG when using the MBM.
- Each iH4-DIG can be connected to a maximum of 4 Mosaic Cards.
- Video overlays from a particular Mosaic card can only appear on the screens driven by the iH4-DIG card it is attached to.
Restrictions:
- The maximum number of video windows on a single screen is 9.
- Video windows from separate Mosaic cards cannot be displayed on the same screen.
Maximum Configuration:
- 8 iH4-DIG cards = 32 screens (using the MBM-H4)
- 16 Mosaic cards = 144 video overlay windows.
Cables/Accessories
As standard the Mosiac cards are shipped with the M2H4 cable set and 2 x 16 way BNC Splitter Cables.
Due to the many configurations possible with the Mosaic card, various cable sets are available to order:
Cable Sets
M2H1-cable - Connects 1 or 2 Mosaic cards to 1 iH4-DIG.
M4H1-cable - Connects 4 Mosaic cards to 1 iH4-DIG.
M2H4-cable - Connects 1 or 2 Mosaic cards to 1, 2, 3 or 4 iH4-DIG.
M4H4-cable - Connects 4 Mosaic cards to 1, 2, 3 or 4 iH4-DIG.

Mosaic Buffer Modules
If you require more than 4 iH4-DIG cards to be connected to your Mosaic cards then by adding the Mosaic Buffer Module (MBM) to the M2H4 or M4H4 cable sets, you can increase the number of iH4-DIG cards to 6 or 8 respectively.
The MBM-H2 and MBM-H4 have a small PCB that is attached to the J3, J7 and J8 headers on the iH4-DIG enabling 6 or 8 cards to be conected to your Mosaic cards.
