GLOBALSTREAMS ANNOUNCES GLOBECASTER 3.1, A NEW SOFTWARE VERSION THAT BUILDS ON THE 3.0 RELEASE AND INCREASES THE VERSATILITY OF GLOBECASTER 8000 AND 4000

St. Louis, MO - (April 18, 2005) GlobalStreams announced at NAB 2005 the release of a new version of software with improvements designed to increase the versatility and usability of the GlobeCaster Studio 4000 and 8000. Version 3.1 builds on the new generation of software released at NAB2004. "Where GlobeCaster 3.0 was the foundation, the cake of a new development strategy, Version 3.1 is the icing," says Tim Hosler, President of the GlobeCaster Division.

The GlobeCaster 3.1 Software version contains many improvements including:

  • Audio Sound Effects - GlobeCaster adds audio to effects and transitions. In point and click fashion, users can "spice up" transitions with included or imported .wav files.

  • Expanded Audio Channels - Version 3.1 adds an additional 8 channels of "virtual audio" dedicated to the integrated applications. A total of 16 channels of audio are available for live, external sources and internal applications.

  • Preview Loaded Effects and Bin Effects - Now, in addition to previewing graphics layers, GlobeCaster will allow for the preview of loaded effects in the Preview window before committing to air. Version 3.1 also provides for the animated preview of transitions and DVE picons in the effects bins on the display. The user has the control to turn this feature on and off.

  • Input Monitor Panel - GlobeCaster can now allow the user to monitor each of the live inputs (8 for the Studio 8000 and 4 for the Studio 4000) on a special panel available on the display. This panel can be opened and closed, and can be adjusted to include from 2 to 8 separate monitors.

  • Remote Camera Control - Users have access to a panel on the display that will allow for the operation of remote control cameras. Limited controls including pan, tilt, left, right, focus and others are initiated within the GlobeCaster software, eliminating the need for a separate control panel.

  • User Definable Display - Version 3.1 will allow users to define a unique color scheme for the GlobeCaster Applications, bins and the Timeline.

  • Template Animations - By naming and saving layers (in addition to strokes), users can "template" animations, making the creation of unique animated graphics and effects quicker and easier.

GlobeCaster has continued to develop as a multi-functional, multi-use video production device; offering the most compelling value proposition available in the video production equipment market.

The manufacturer's recommended pricing for GlobeCaster 3.1 is $695 for those who do not have the Extended Warranty or who have not already purchased 3.0. All GlobeCaster users who are under warranty receive the software upgrade at no charge. A slight charge will apply for those who have 3.0.

GLOBALSTREAMS ANNOUNCES NEW OPTIONS AND HARDWARE IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE GLOBECASTER 8000 AND 4000.

St. Louis, MO - (April 18, 2005) GlobalStreams announced at NAB 2005 availability of the 1 GB DSK Card, the release of a new CS-100 switcher panel, availability of an HD Output option, and development plans to produce an MPEG Output card and a new Coordinator Card. These new hardware improvements help to expand the use of GlobeCaster in light of the changing broadcast market. "Our objective is to continue to produce options that will make our GlobeCaster product new each year without forcing our client to make significant purchases," says Tim Hosler, President of GlobalStreams. Inc. "Our results this year continue our tradition of providing great value for video production."

The GlobeCaster 1GB DSK Card is an important improvement to the graphics capability of GlobeCaster. Now users will be able to design and use longer animations, and more intense graphics. Additionally, the new DSK Card provides for storage and playback of up to 42 seconds of full frame video. The DSK Card is shipping immediately, subject to customer demand. The MSRP for the 1GB DSK Card is $2,995.

On the heals of the successful development and release of the CS-1000, Hard Surface Switcher Panel, GlobalStreams has developed another switcher panel option, the CS-100. The CS-100 is a smaller, less expensive version of the CS-1000, but offers many of the same features. The CS-100 is a replica of the Switcher Software interface so users do not have to learn a new, more complex approach. The CS-100 includes a removable numeric keypad for those who want the flexibility of loading effects and graphics with number shortcuts. At just under 18 inches in length, the CS-100 will fit nicely into a rack for on-location work. The MSRP has not yet been determined, but GlobalStreams is offering the CS-100 in limited numbers for an introductory price of $1,695.

The new HD Output option has been developed and is showcased at NAB. Designed to be used with GlobeCaster, it is a standalone product and can be used with any standard definition video production device. The unit provides up converted program output in various HD output standards including 1080i, 720i, and 720p, offering both component analog and serial digital connectors. It is expected that GlobalStreams will be shipping this product before the end of May. The MSRP has not been determined, but is expected to be below the previously announced price of $4,995.

On the drawing board, GlobalStreams has announced plans to build an MPEG Output card, which will support MPEG 1, 2 and 4 output standards. The card will allow for real-time program output simultaneously with the current GlobeCaster output options. Also, GlobalStreams is committed to the production of a new Coordinator Card that will eliminate the need for a separate Videonet Card in the Host PC. Both of these new hardware options are expected to be available in prototype later in 2005.
