FS-M records video and audio to disk in the MPEG-2 MP@ML format. The MPEG
file format offers high quality without utilizing a large amount of storage. Extremely long recordings can be achieved with FS-M! User selectable bit-rates of up to 12 Mbit/s permit a choice of the desired quality level when recording.
A big advantage FS-M has over tape-based VCR's is that the hard disk based storage media experiences minimal deterioration over time and no loss of quality, even after hundreds of recordings and play-backs. This makes the FS-M the perfect choice for continuous record or playback duty and an excellent alternative to high performance VCR's.
The front panel of FS-M features a VCR like interface that includes a jog shuttle and familiar transport control keys like record, play, pause, stop, fast-forward, and rewind in addition to forward index and back index. This ensures that anyone can operate FS-MPEG with virtually no learning curve.
Record and play-back footage simultaneously with FS-M’s Time-Shift feature which is useful for sporting events and broadcast delay. Additionally, view and analyze FS-M content at four different slow motion speeds. This makes FS-M ideal for education, training, sports and motion analysis.
FireStore FS-M features industry standard S-Video, composite and stereo audio inputs and outputs. FS-M is also PAL and NTSC switchable for ultimate flexibility.
Use FS-M’s web interface to create Play-Lists and transfer files to/from the unit. Alternatively, control FS-M from external devices with the standard RS-232 port. In addition to standard VCR-type control functions, this interface also allows addressing of individual tracks. This feature makes FS-M ideal for commercial insertion or video jukebox applications.
With FS-MPEG’s easy to use web interface, it is possible to create custom Play-lists for playback of sequential or non-sequential tracks. The Play-list information remains on the disk, so when the FS-MPEG is powered up, it can automatically go into the Play-list mode. The Play-list can also be exported to a PC, manipulated and imported back into FS-MPEG.
